In the 1960s and 70s the gay rights movement progressed from limited activism to widespread protest for equal rights and acceptance. Through the years laws have been removed that discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. Now, with the first decade of the 2000's almost at an end, the fight for gay equality is far from over.
